This park is both a spectacular wetlands and one of the best examples of tropical dry forests remaining anywhere in the world! It is a refuge for hundreds of tropical birds covering a wide variety of migratory species as well as squirrels, howler monkeys, white-nosed coatis, deer, capuchin monkeys and many others. During the boat ride you'll have an opportunity to see monkeys, iguanas, and even crocodiles in their natural environment as we pass through the complex mangrove eco-system. This is one of the most incredible areas to observe wildlife and the largest mangrove in all Central America. On the way back we will stop at the famous traditional village of Guaitil where we will learn Chorotega Indians handcraft techniques.
